Biography

Gail Catherine Sheehan a.k.a. MEG TROY

The Montréal (Lachine) born and now North Vancouver resident Gail Catherine Sheehan began to develop her artistic abilities early in life. At ten she was already accepting awards for her imaginative poetry. By the time twelve rolled along she was composing piano music to
accompany them. The teenage years were filled to capacity singing in church choirs, high school musicals, Friday night coffee shops, blood donor clinics and charitable fundraising events.

At twenty Gail began to study guitar and voice and was soon asked to record two of her own songs on the London Record label accompanied by a sixteen piece orchestra. This amazing opportunity allowed her voice to be heard from coast to coast and internationally along side renowned names such as Joni Mitchell, Anne Murray and Gordon Lightfoot. This led the way to radio and television appearances as well as numerous club dates. In the years that followed she wrote hundreds of songs, some of which were performed by other artists and others were used as background music in commercials. The 90’s inspired Gail to try her hand at writing children’s stories with accompanying songs.

The pseudonym MEG TROY has replaced the name Gail in many of her poems and paintings (in loving memory of her dear deceased mother and grandmother).

It is best summed up by saying Gail (or Meg to some), continues to celebrate a lifetime of creative exploration. Her talent has an explosive quality and quantity to it. When asked “Where do all your idea’s come from?” Gail answers… “From my heart of course”
